The printed construction plan consists of 5 pages measuring 1800mm x 850mm and is delivered rolled up.
The digital blueprint is also required to manufacture the components. The DXF data allows the components to be easily laser-cut or milled.
A few details about the construction:
The tubular fuselage is constructed from 8x7mm carbon fiber tubes. These are joined at the joints using carbon fiber rovings, resulting in a very lightweight and strong structure. The wings and tail surfaces are conventionally built from poplar plywood and balsa wood. The engine mount is adapted to the Toni Clark Piper Cub J3 fiberglass cowling.
As expected from a model of this type, the flight characteristics are very docile. Even at low speeds, the model is completely forgiving. A short runway of just a few meters is sufficient for takeoff. With its large 150mm Kavan wheels, takeoffs and landings are also possible on rough terrain. Of course, the Savage Bobber isn't just for scale flying; it can also perform all imaginable classic aerobatic maneuvers: inverted flight, rolls, turns, and so on.
